Networking a Mac and a PC

I'm at a client's house at the moment, and he's got a PC and a Mac. I want to have the net (dialup) shared between the two computers. I have the PC serving the internet, set as 192.168.0.1 on subnet 255.255.255.0. I set the Mac to 192.168.0.2, of course. Thing is, they have a hub set up. When I check the Local Area Connection in Win2K on the PC so that it shows when connected, the little lights appear... 10mbps.. the hub is 10mbps, so it makes sense. Does the hub have its own IP address? HOw can I share this dialup connection between the PC and Mac? I set the mac to the above IP address but the PC can not ping it.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance...

Many hubs do not have IP's. They simply split the signal. Switches always have IP's.

If the PC is doing ICS, then just set the gateway/router address in the TCP/IP prefs on the mac to the PC's IP address.

Either that or set the Mac to DHCP, I think that Windows ICS has a built in DHCP server.

Neither switches nor hubs usually have IPs (for home use).

Edit: There's something messed up with TCP/IP if you can't ping though.
