Looking for some help on how to unfubar my printer install. Have a network CM1017 hp laserjet. The computer located in the same room has virtually no problems (I do occasionally have to reset the printer when it gets locked up by another computer trying to print). One of the other computers generally has no problems. The rest have more problems than not when trying to print. All computers have vista or 7.

I assume this is almost assuredly a software/driver install problem on the individual computers...but does anyone happen to have experience or know what software package I should be installing on all the computers?

You are missing a ton of crucial information in your original post.

#1. It's a network printer -> Wired or wireless?
#2. List other routers/switches, etc... and also list how your computers are hooked up to the printer
#3. Tell us which computers are having the issues, and if they are wired or wireless computers.
#4. When you print, does the file get stuck in the printer queue on the problematic computers?

We need more information to be able to solve this problem.

Is this a host based printer? A lot of HP printers are... thats why I ditched my laserjet. You cannot use PCL or PS drivers.

Printer is wired, line goes direct from router through simple 5 port hub that feeds printer, scanner, and den computer. Computers having problem are wired and wireless. You can see the file on the individual computers print queue but nothing occurs at the printer. The den computer that has almost no problems, often has a problem after one of the other computers tried to print but failed requiring print to be power cycled.
