Anyone know of a color laser printer which can be plugged directly into ethernet and is easy to configure and share in a 98/2000/XP/ME environment? I want to know if you have had PERSONAL experience with one. no no, not like that... just printing to it.

then I guess I can't mention that the HP 2500 is probably your best choice for under $1K, since I haven't used it myself.

BTW You might get more useful responses if you give some hints on your budget, number of users, and pages per month.

I've used the Minolta 2200 desklaser. Pretty easy to use and configure. 10/100. Kinda noisy though, but a steal at around $600. The newer 2300DL is under $700 now.

Get whatever printer you want, then get a 10/100 or even wireless print server to hook it up to.

buy.com has a netgear (wireless compatile) for $49.99 free shipping and a free (by mail) wireless PCI adapter.

Xerox Techtronics 8200DP... it's not technically laser, it uses wax, but it's damn clear... our school has a couple of them...

I like the Phaser as well, have an 8200Dpn here at work we get as part of their freecolorprinters.com offer. We print 3200 pages per mos and buy all our ink and maint. kits thru them. LOTS of compliments on the prints. REALLY excels on text with mixed color documents.
