network traffic when using both wired & wireless

i'm using my xbox to watch movies from my video server via a wired connection to my Dlink 624 (802.11g).

i'm also using my laptop to access AT wirelessly.

my question is, do those connections share the same bandwidth, or are they separate?

Essentially, separate because you are talking two different desitations. The router is going to direct the traffic from your laptop to the outside world, and from the xbox to the video server. NOw, let's say you were doing XBox live and using the laptop, then you would be sharing the bandwith provided by your ISP because both are directed to the outside world.
