I'm trying to find info on the different types of networks out there like SONET and ATM and what not. I used to know this stuff when I was in college, but I've forgotten most of it.
Basically want a laymans version of what SONET, ATM, T1, T3, etc... mean and how much data is transmitted per second and what applications currently use them. This is just so I don't get confused when people start talking about them and so I can act semi-intelligent when in a conversation with network people here at work.
