network question please help

I have an epox 8rda3+ mobo....it has two lan ports....i was told this was to hook 2 pcs up at the same time...i wanna share my cable with another pc using this other port...anyone know how?

either get a switch or buy crossover cat5

If you're going to have

cable modem -> computer 1 -> computer 2

you'll need to use a crossover cable between the computers and i guess turn on internet connection sharing on computer 1

i would suggest just waiting for a hot deal and getting a cheap cable/dsl router... you'll be much happier with that instead of windows internet connection sharing.

Use XP's Internet Connection Sharing.

Do not get possessed by the second port. You might do much better by buying an Inexpensive Cable/DSL Router and share the ?Good Way?.
