I just installed Winnt on one of my boxes. This box has two nic's in them. One nic im using for my internal network and the second nic is for my cable modem (Road runner). Im trying to set one of my Nic (2nd one) to do DHCP for road runner, but it doesnt allow me. IT wants me to enter a IP address and subnet etc.....
I entered the IP and subnet for my internal Nic.
NT doesnt allow obtain an ip from a DHCP????? is there something that im doing wrong? how do i make it so that i can have dhcp.

Then i tried entering the Ip #'s that Road runner gave out by hooking the cable modem to a WIn98 machine and getting the #'s from there. After i entered the Ip's into the NT machine internet doesnt work =[

Can anyone help or has any suggestion?

thanks

Just set one to get the ip automaticly, it doesnt force you to enter the ip.. If dhcp doesn't work, you'll have to call tech support to have them add the card's marc address before it will work.

It wont let me choose the option for "obtain ip auto" under the network properties. This NT server box is driving me nuts =)
It just automatically choose the "specify an ip address" so i have to enter a IP

thanks
