Network problems with ME?

Has anyone found any networking problems with ME?
I have 98SE before and WIN2k, everything ran fine on those systems.
Then I installed ME onto my system and had the same network protocols that worked on 98 but sometimes i have problems getting into my network and it seems whichever PC i have powered on first and gets the first connection to the Hub i have can view the eniter network. Some of the other PCs can view the entire network but others can't even connect to the network.
any ideas or similar problems?
thanks

Did you do a CLEAN install or did you upgrade? If you upgraded then it is possible that the Windows 98 SE versions of TCP/IP and the winsock related files got copied in ME. I had a similar experience when I upgraded to ME from 98SE on my home machine. I could connect to my ISP but nothing worked, no IE, no MAIL.
I called Microsoft Tech Support (and being a 15 year career IS professional I rarely call such numbers) and once I described the problem the Tech knew what had happened. Because the solution provided by Microsoft in my case may be different than yours I recommend that you call Microsoft. As of yesterday there was nothing in the Knowledge base on support.microsoft.com about network problems when you go from Win98 to ME using an upgrade. My previous posts may still be in this forum.
Good luck.

A similiar problem here as well. I had full internet and email access, but could not find any networked computers on the DHCP network I'm on. This was with an upgrade from 98SE. When I wiped the drive and started over with a clean install, the network came alive.

bigfootmd: I tried looking for your previous post, but I was having no luck locating it. Do you know when you posted it, or what it was titled? I'm curious to read the solution the tech gave you.
