Ok, my friends computer has gotten messed up and I don't know how to fix it. She has wireless internet and is running windows 98. The wireless card was working, then she ran The Cleaner, found nothing, and then it stopped working. The network card is a Belkin and the router is the same. It is installed correctly, I'm just not sure how to make sure it's on the same network, and how to connect it because I've never worked with wireless internet. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You need to make sure it is on the same ssid as the wireless router is on. Maybe read up on the manual on how to do this or something like that

Can always jsut uninstall the card and reinstall it as well. See if she has security turned on on her router or not. If she does, you have to make the settings match on the computer....

Unless you went in there and turned SSID broadcasting off OR you have the card setup in Ad Hoc (neither is likely from reading your post) then you don't have to worry about SSID mismatches. I'd completely remove the card physically, reboot/reinstall the card. Make sure you have the most recent drivers. What is "The cleaner"?

The Cleaner is a trojan remover. It had found a couple trojans but didn't run until completion, deleted the trojans and the internet still worked. Then, it was ran until completion, didn't find any, and internet doesn't work.

Alright, uninstalled the card and reinstalled it.. still doesn't work. I have NO IDEA on how to setup networks through Win 98. I know on XP you just use the Network connection wizard.. can that run on 98 if I put it on a floppy?
