Network probing tools

Hi, I'm trying to test our network security and need some sort of network probing software. Something that probes internal IP's and returns any positive results. Is there such a tool?

Nessus is a free, open-source tool that I haven't used much which gets rave reviews:

Are there any other tools that ping all internal IP's and returns results?

So do you want just a ping sweep tool or a full network security audit tool?

Hi, a ping sweep tool is what I need to test.

Well that has nothing to do with security, unless you have all static IPs and suspect someone of plugging a rogue machine into the network. And sorry but I don't know of any tools off hand, I would just write a script using the ping CLI tool.
