Network Printer

I work for a small local business and we have several printers and computers here connected via a network. The computers run on Windows 98 (except the server, which is Novell) and Novell is used for network login. Now one user has a HP LaserJet printer connected to her computer locally, on LPT1. How would I go about setting up that printer as a network printer, so anyone at any computer can access that printer and print from it. We have a program called NPrinter and a couple printers are setup using that, but I don't know how to use/setup printers using NPrinter. So any information or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

you can leave her computer on all the time and share the printer... thats the easiest way. If the printer isnt made to work on the network, you can get an HP JetDirect so you can hook it up to the network... i dont know how that would work with novell if oyur using an old version and IPX... if your network is running TCP/IP it should be pretty easy... most of the newer jetdirects you can just use an HTML browser to access it... or you can always telnet into it to set it up with an IP and such. well you should be able to find some instructions, im not that great at explaining it

EASY!
right click on network neighborhood
click add
select protocol
select microsoft and then file & print sharing
once it is installed re-boot
right click on network neighborhood and select file& print sharing then properties
click on allow others to use my printer. Do not enalbe file sharing!
On any of the machines you want to use the printer, goto start/setting/printers then add new
hit next and select network printer
then browse to the PC you just enabled print sharing on!
it may ask for the drivers for that printer..install as usual! 🙂
