Network printer, is it just ip based?

I am looking at a laser printer to go work in a wireless network. I was thinking about this 1200n HP printer. But I a not sure how would I netowork it. There will not be a PC by it. The OS of the new machines will be XP pro. Can I just add it by ip I use a jetdirect box? This is sort of new to me so please enlighten me. 🙂

Since the 1200N comes with a jetdirect print server, you should be able to set your workstations to print to the IP.

This involves loading some software that comes with the printer that in essence creates an HP IP port for that printer. It is pretty straight-forward once you get into setting it up.

The only issue I see is having a wireless network. It would probably be better if you could have the printer use a wired network port instead of wireless.

What about a access point with a printer server built in? There was one from zoom that supports a printer server. I am looking at others.

I think I have found the end all solution. 🙂
