Network Packet sniffer?

I would like to measure the amount and speed of the network traffic between to PC that are on the same LAN. I would be helpful if I could save this info to a file.

Do you know a program that can do this?

Regards,

network general sniffer, etherpeek, ethereal will look at the actual packets and traffic. I'm sure there is something much easier like a stopwatch.

Iris is the freakin' sh!t! You gotta pay for it and it ain't cheap but DAMN, it kicks ass! And I've used the above mentioned packet sniffers and Iris slaps tham around.

Eeye makes very good (and expensive products). Last time I used ethereal it didn't measure speed.

It's kind of a two part question you're asking. But, do you want to see the traffic or just get stats on the traffic?

If you want stats and have SNMP enabled devices check out MRTG.
