Hey guys and gals. Over here at my school our internet connection sucks. To combat this, a couple kids set up an on campus search engine for things (using strangesearch). My question is, is there a program out there that allows me to limit my outgoing send speeds. Like right now i have 2 people connected to me getting things and they are using up all my cpu :-/ I can like do nothing on my computer until they exit. I got a program called netwatcher but that only allows me to see who is getting my files. If i could limit each person to like 250 kb/sec or something like that, that would be great. If there is any way to do this in windows XP, please lmk. Thanks!

WinXp comes with a basic personal firewall option,I'm not sure just how detailed you can get in limiting users though

Looks like the coders of strangesearch are pretty active on revising/updating their code, why not drop them an email or post at their support forum to inquire about an option that would allow you to limit users and the bandwidth they can consume. If Kaaza can do it I'm sure they could as well

try forcing them to change to Direct Connect, just create one local hub for everyone and then everyone uses DC++
