i think that windows2000 can act as a DHCP server and hand out IP's to all of the computers. Then you can connect the DSL modem to the machine running 2000 and it shares the Internet connection with all of the other PC's. What operating systems are you using now.

all the PCs are running win98SE. Right now the DSL modem is acting as the DHCP server....

1) if i made a win2k box a DHCP server could i use professional or would i need server?
2) how would running this over a machine make it any better?
3) could the computer act as a "master browser" which is what it appears that i need???
