Network help!

I have this router by NetStorm. I plugged in the cat5 from my cable modem, into the WAN, and then the other cables to the respective computers. I can see the shared folders, but I can't get any kind of internet connection. When i also run ipconfig it doesnt show the dns or the ips. I am using Charter with a Motorola Modem. Anyone know what I can do. Also, in network connections, there's no Gateway. It just lists one form of connection. Thanks for your help.

often the cable modems lock onto the MAC address of the network card they first connected to. Have you unplugged the cable modem, waited a minute then plugged it back in?

if not try it. it should then lock onto the MAC address of the new router.
