So my girlfriend has a sony vaio laptop, its running vista and it often has problems connecting to the internet, now this happens on her home network which uses i THINK a linksys router, now my laptop as well as my phone and her brothers computer all work with no problem through the wireless connection, but probably 7/10 times she will connect only LOCALLY and it shows "identifying" on the network manager forever. Sometimes we disconnect, reconnect multiple times, and suddenly it works and we get an actually internet connection, anyone know the problem causing this?

i have tried reinstalling the network drivers, and windows is up to date..
i havent tried formating the computer yet, but wil that help?
Ive read on another site talking about the icp6 or osmething, and disabling it, ive tried it but it doesnt work

Download the latest drivers for the Laptop's support site, and Update the current drivers.

It could be also Quirky Wireless card, or quirky card antenna connection in the laptop.

Borrow from someone a USB Wireless dongle and give it a try. If it works well buy one it is less than $20.
