Network Drive recommendations

I would like to add a network drive to my home network which is based around a linksys wirelessG router, 2 laptops(wireless), desktop which is connected via 100Mbit ethernet
wired connection.

I'd like to add a NAS to the setup and looked at the ARGOSY enclosure
and probably put a 200Gig drive in it.

Anybody have any recommendations or caveats?

why can't you put 200gig internal hard drive into the hardwired desktop and mount it?
why does it have to be an enclosure/external?

i keep sensitive information on the desktop and would rather not store or archive information on the cpu, plus i'd like to turn it off, and keep a low power network drive on all the time.
