i want a simple program that will be a sort of network status dashboard for my company

i have several remote sites and specific computers/devices at these remote sites, mostly connected via vpns. i want to be able to see a simple red/green status for each site/device, which could be based on a simple ping every minute or so. is there anything like this?

and maybe it can provide email/popup warnings if something goes down
 
There's lots of monitoring/graphing tools like Zenoss, Nagios, Cacti, etc. It depends on how much money/time you have/want to put into this.
