Network Connectivity Issues

I was working with a 3 computer home setup today, and it's just bugging the hell out of me. One of the computers just refuses to accept the other two on the network. When I try to browse through explorer, sometimes it takes around 30 seconds to view what open shares a computer has, and other times it just flat out says that the computer is inaccessible.

But the thing is, the command line commands always work all the time, and fast too. I can use "net view" to see the computers instantly. But through explorer it goes at a snails pace and refuses to connect at times.

Ideas?

The joys of Microsoft File and Printer sharing. Happens to me a lot too. I just make shortcuts to the other machine names. There've been other threads about this too, but I don't know that anybody has ever come up with a real reason for it or a resolution that always applies.

I created a batch file on the computer to run the net view command for each of the other computer names, put that in the startup folder as well as a shortcut on the desktop. It fixes the issue when explorer doesn't recognize another computer, or does recognize it but says it's inaccessable. But it's still extra steps and I'm not 100% confident it'll work all the time.

Maybe someone new will chime in here with some aid.
