Network Connections / xp pro / must be cancelled to make connection

Howdy all,

I have a wired connection to my wireless router using cable broadband. Frequently when I want to go to a new webpage the Network connections box will open. It only has the back up dial up connections listed for use in the drop menu. As soon as I cancel this box my browser will retrieve the page I want. I'm not sure when this started ( may have been after I installed the juno software for a backup net connection.

What do I do so that I don't have to cancel this box all of the time?
