Network connection fails error

I have set up a security camera system in house with access to it from the internet. People from out of state can access the cameras from the internet and so can I.

The problem is I have tried through Firefox 3.6.24n and IE8 from work. I can get the sign in page, put in my user name and password and in the bottom of the browser it will say loading items but then I get a Network connection error. I have IE8 and so do the people who also access it.

I am behind a proxy server also at work.

I have tried to access it straight through the ip address (my home router which can done but not from work) with the port number and through a dns rename.

Would the proxy at work be the problem?

It's entirely possible that the IT department where you work has blocked these types of connections. If you have a legitimate reason to access the cameras while you are at work, ask the IT department how to do it properly on their network.
