Question Network conflict

Whenever I connect an external disk to the USB3.2 Gen2 ports my wifi signal drops completely, it disconnects from my access point and cannot reconnect. This does not happen using the front USB ports.
I have a graphic card connected to the first PCIe slot and my wireless card is on the fifth PCIe slot.
Am I looking to some sharing resources problem?

Motherboard is MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max

Thanks, informative.

I still feel that my chipsets' 8 PCIe2 lanes should be able to cover my peripherals.
And, on the second USB3.2 Gen2 port, I have a USB hub to which I connect my phone and the internet never gets cut off. (The hub's other connections are only used for power)

I think it depends on how MSI wired it on the motherboard. You might just have to move the PCIe card to other slots, or move your external drive.
