I have a computer that was recently networked to a linksys switch for dsl sharing. The network card is linksys too. However now the boot up time for my machine is significantly longer. I have heard of this problem before. What can i do about it to reduce my bootup time?

How is the IP address assigned? If you're using a static IP the boot time shouldn't increase at all. If you're using dynamic (DHCP) you may see a slight increase as the switch assigns your machine an IP. If you boot your machine with DHCP enabled and you are *not* on a network you'll see a long delay as your PC searches for a DHCP server. Eventually it will time out and boot up normally.

Hope that helps...
