And he doesn't know how to ping an IP address.

It gets better, too.

He had no clue how to find out what his IP address was.

ipconfig was completely new to him.

So if you don't know how to ping, and you can't find a workstation's IP addy..........how do you do anything as a network admin beyond plugging a cable into the wall?

Network admin - "The tech I talked to before you told me that I was getting a one-D-ten-T error..."

Ehh, NT should be upgraded to Win2000 or better yet converted over to a Unix system for those of us who like to have real servers ;)

And as for the IP stuff, lmao. :D

What a load of manure. Let him be the boss for now, wait till he messes up, then you come in as SuperMan and save the world :)
Make sure he backs up any important data before he messes with the network, so you can have an easier time cleaning up his mess later on.

Some people's children, tsk tsk tsk!

I see -- for some reason I was under the impression these were servers. After reading the first post, I have no idea why I was thinking that. Oh well.

Damn... That really sucks. I know all this crap, yet I doubt I could qualify for any "network admin" position. Not fair. :p
