Netwoking a 2000 PC onto a 98 Network, HELP!

I have recently installed my client PC with win 2000 but when i try to access the network from the 2000 PC it wont let me even ping the host, the host can see the client but the client cant see the host. Is this because windows 2000's security is too high? if so can you tell me how to reduce it?

I guess you didn't config your TCP/IP protocol correctly on your 2K PC. You should also enable NETBEUI on TCP/IP if your host has NETBEUI installed. Your TCP/IP setting should be "obtain an IP automatically".
