I have a mac on a network where the router is 192.168.3.1 and the mac has ip 192.168.3.3

running the netstat command in network utility shows the following:

192.168.166.255 link#8 UHLWb 1 2 vmnet1

why do i have addresses in 192.168.60.xxx and 192.168.166.xxx ranges?

this mac has bootcamp partition as well as vmware installed-would that account for it?

Yes, it's from Vmware. Perform an ipconfig (or whatever the Mac equilavent is) and you should see 2 additional adapters labeled VMWare. The IPs assigned to the adapters will more than likely be in the range of 192.168.60.xx and 192.168.166.xx
