Netscreen -5 Clearing Memory

SpeedTester

I have this 2 year old Netscreen Router but I cant seem to clear on the old username and Password.
This is our retired Cox@work router but they refuse to give me the username and PW. I believe when they set
it up the locked it (The manual says you can do that) so you cant put the serial number in the username and PW
when Hyperterminaling into it. I can get to the login screen and watch the thing boot up in Hyperterminal but
cant figure a way of clearing out the Cmos. Right now its in three peices, I took out the battery and I'm going to
let it sit overnight. If anyone has any other ideas let me know. Netscreen says on their web page you have to send
it to them to have the thing reset. I find that hard to believe.

Thanks guys.

I just asked a colleague who is our netscreen techead here. Apparently the only way out of this situation is to return the firewall to the factory. Netscreen 5 XP models (new models) do allow you the option of choosing whether you can reset the whole box but only during the initial setup of the box.

Sorry.
