I have IE setup as my default browser and I want to keep it that way. I have one site that needs Netscape and I have a shortcut on my desktop to that site. How do I setup the shortcut to open in netscape?
Thanks. I understand how to make a shortcut to netscape. What I am trying to do is have a shortcut to a URL that is on my desktop open in Netscape while IE is my default browser.
bookmark the site in IE
go to your favorites dir and copy the bookmark to wherever you want
create a unique file extension.... like "NetscapeWebsite.BLAH"
then hold down shift and rightclick the file and "Open With" Netscape
all files with .blah will then be opened by netscape
a more practical extension would be something like .netscape ... just choose one that wont be normally used by files and anytime you need a website to be opened up by website, change the name of it in favorites to the custom extension. and it can be more than 3 letters.
An easier way might be: Open Netscape, click on Edit>Preferences>Navagator>"Start in home page", and then right below, enter address of the site.
