netscape faster in loading pages?

I've always been an IE user but I thought I would install netscape to see how it compares to IE. I think netscape is slightly faster in loading pages than IE anyone else notice this?

I would say you are right, I use NS myself. It Definitely seems to bring up pages quicker (not talking about the actual page loading 🙂 ) I have it as a quicklaunch so I don't see a inital loading time different as opposed to IE either.

which version of netscape are you using?
i'm using netscape 4.78, and yes it loads most (not all) pages faster than msie

it is "slow" when loading pages with lots of tables... it is due to the fact that ns waits until the contents of the table is done loading before displaying the rest of the page, while msie displays as they load ....
but if you calculate the time when opening the page until it stops loading, netscape actually finishes faster
of course, which one is considered fast depends on what your definition of fast is
i'm not sure how netscape 6.x works in terms of tables though ...

btw, the speed difference is most noticable if you're using dialup
almost unnoticeable on broadband, unless the page is like full of images, videos, etc ....

/me waits patiently for msie, mozilla, and/or opera users to come and comment (which hopefully won't go to layers, css, and such, since the thread title is about browsers' loading time and not browser wars) 😉 🙂
