Why no IE? (Its integrated, right?) And if its because you're using Linux, get Opera. (Small, fast, almost as good as IE)

Raging, I find myself in a very interesting position here. I am in a department that provides technical support for endusers of a proprietary cancer treatment planning system. We actually have an internal IT department that maintains our desktop systems (something I am still coming to grips with, not being able to take care of my own system :( ) They have somehow set up these systems to not allow IE to load correctly, and I would rather bitch about netscape then lose my job overridding their controls to install IE........plus I have always been one to curse the darkness rather then light a candle.... =D

That sucks. I feel the same way about Nutscraper (Only have it installed to test web sites)

Hey, now it at least gives you an excuse to work instead of surfing the net

Ugh, i feel for you. We can at least use IE or Opera even though Nutscrape is the official browser.

Netscape completely unrevokably unequivicially blows Hardly a truer statement ever made. Nutscrape truly is the major crap.

currently, I am on version 6 trying to get back to version 4.7 but for some reason 4.7 doesn't want to load very easily.....sigh I will admit 4.7 is light years ahead of 6, but still I prefer IE.

I used Netscape for 3+ yrs. I started with that when I first got my internet. I always prefered it to IE for a number of reasons.I could no longer handle it crashing though and I forced myself to try/use/adapt IE. Well after about 3 months of IE 5 I can say that it blows , big fat greasy slime covered chunks BUT it's stable as o hell and I will continue using it until Netscape retrieves it's head out of it's ass and comes up with a stable web browser.

What I don't like about IE5:
when you rt click to open a new window, it opens minimized. it will eventually remember to open it maximized but you have to repeat the process everytime you start IE.

The bookmarks suck big time. You have to hit that littl;e arrow deal to scroll down and see them all. Netscape they popped up all in view.

Do I really need to confirm that I want to bkmk a site with that name? Couldn't it accept the fact that if I went to the trouble to click favorites-add to favorites, it wasn't an errant keystroke but a conscious effort to bkmk a site.
