Netscape 7.1

Anyone know where I can go to download Netscape 7.1? The most recent version is 7.2, but I need to get 7.1 and can't find it anywhere.

This should point to Netscape 7.1 ... its getting hard to find.

Its nice that everyone chimes in about Firefox, but I still use Netscape 7.1 and like a particular skin for it. You cannot do much with the Firefox toolbar, and forget about a large choice of skins.

Netscape 7.1 is based on an old version of Mozilla (1.4) that has a security flaw. Even 7.2 is based on a Mozilla version (1.7) before the security fix. Until a 7.3 comes out, you might want to get Mozilla 1.7.3 instead.


BTW, why is Firefox always hyped up so much more than Mozilla?

I actually use Firefox and Thunderbird on all my personal PCs however I really need to find a copy of Netscape 7.1 (for my dad) not 7.2. It just appears that 7.2 is causing a problem on his PC, whereas 7.1 was always fine and I want to see if I can get him back to that. In the meantime I'll see what I can do about pushing him into Firefox ....

on edit: That smartdownloads link only leads to 7.2. Is there really no way to download 7.1 any more? i can't find it anywhere on the net, not even on netscape's downloads area.

I also uploaded the full version to my server. I just knew Netscape would yank the 7.1 version and screw up somene down the road. Anyhoo, here's the link for ya:

That link is also on the site I linked. I'd opt for the Streamlined version though.
