Anybody here use these? I have chronic sinus problems and absolutely can not sleep if my nose is completely blocked. Most of the time its only half blocked but I sometimes think it affects my quality of sleep. Today i got a neti pot and used it and I'm feeling pretty good. Its actually kinda refreshing to do several times.

Has anybody here used these long term? Has it cured any problems that you've had with your sinus?

Its amazing how much snot is up there :D

not long term, but I have used one. It makes your nose feel, like you said, more clean and open.

I had a similar problem. When I talked to my NET doc he gave me a "Nasaline" syringe. Works pretty well.

I use a squeeze bottle that's made for this and make my own solution - a pinch of baking soda, 1/2 tbsp of good salt mixed with 2 cups of warm water.

I had a roommate that used a dental waterpik with a special attachment but I'm not willing to dish out $80 for a kit.

...I don't see how the neti pot can force water through efficiently. Even the squeeze bottle seems barely enough.

You have to open your mouth and cock your head a certain way to open the sinus cavities. If you're using a lot of force, you're going to end up damaging your membranes and maybe even affect your sense of smell.

My husband loves his. He has sinus problems regularly. He was just telling me today how much better his nose felt after using the Neti for a couple of days.

My girlfriend has severe allergy problems and she uses is twice daily. If she doesn't use the neti pot she would blow her nose like 50-60 times a day. With neti pot she would probably need to do it like 4-5 times a day. So it helps her a lot. You need to get the water temperature and salt content right otherwise it may hurt. Once you have gotten it then you are good.

I tried one, it largely did work. The instructions said "It isn't as uncomfortable as it sounds.". They were wrong. It was EXACTLY as uncomfortable as it sounds.

Its uncomfortable the first time, but after the second and third times you get used to it. Just remember, keep breathing through your mouth while your doing it and it will feel fine.

I use mine once or twice a month, works pretty well. I love how great I can smell right after I do it, it really does clean ya out :)

I heard about 'em for a few years, but only recently tried one. It is really cool. A little weird, but cool.
