I have a Netgear WGT624 wireless router with one wired and one wireless connected computer.
I use WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) for security
I have no port triggering or forwarding active and no ping accepting from the internet and mac address only connections to my router
I use Firefox almost exclusively but,
When I use Symantec to scan for security holes it detects ICMP, Port 80 (HTTP), Port22 (SSE) as being open on Internet Explorer (all the updates) and it won't test with Firefox.
When I use Gibson (www.grc.com) to test my ports it shows all stealthed (I use Zonealarm 5 Pro)
Is there something I am missing on my router security or is that just a Symantec/Norton/IE6 thing? Broadbanreports.com port scans show no ICMP return pings but I am using Firefox to do it.
I am worried about wireless security. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
