1. Staples has the WGT624 (turbo 108mbps) router for $149.98. Add a filler to get over $150, and use a $30 off $150 coupon (from email, the ones in the thread are dead). Place the order. Link to item.

2. Call back and ask for a price match to Buy.com who has it for $74.99 for today's deal of the day. If this fails, you can price match to Amazon.com for $78.74. You should get ~$82.49 back on the PM (make sure you get 110%)

Edit: Rebate will not work if you buy at Staples.

Summary:

$149.98
-$30 coupon
-$82.49 PM

= $37.49

I have already done this deal, so it is possible. They might try and get you on the model number for the router, because Staples has it listed as WGT624NA. Everywhere else has it as WGT624. The NA stands for North America, so it's the same exact item. Netgear's own website lists it as WGT624, and has no mention of the NA. Furthermore, the photo of the box on Staples' website clearly says WGT624. Be persistent and polite. If the CSR refuses to do so, thank him or her for their time, hang up, and call back. You will eventually get the PM.

Cheers!

It's worth a try, but I'll be amazed if anybody else gets this deal. Even outside of the rebate issue, I believe whoever at Staples handled your price match screwed up. At least based on how other places have done price matches when I've done them, they shouldn't have given you the price match off of the original $149.98 price AND still honored the coupon. They should have done one of two things instead.

Given the price match difference based on the end $119.98 price after the coupon, NOT the original $149.98 price. In this case, your price match refund should have been only $49.49.

Or, given you the price match, but then negated the $30 off coupon since the price match really should be against prices before that coupon, but after the price match, you're no longer above the $150 limit required for the coupon, so it's no good.

It's certainly worth a try, but I wouldn't expect to get this same deal if any other CSR reps at Staples knows what they are doing.

Actually, it's Staples policy (for the most part) that when you PM, even with a coupon, you get the full PM. Coupon doesn't factor in. Several people have gotten the PM at another deal site I posted on. No one has been rejected yet. Basically, I've been told that the $30 shows up as a "credit" or discount...not necessarily as a coupon, so the second CSR doesn't always know what it is, so you get the full PM.

Yeah - hot deals are cool :) but does anyone ever look at the relatativity. I bet that even a company like staple$ must buy these routers at about $40, plus dealing with this kind of deal is artrocious. Sorry if I appear to take a dump here but I don't think too many people will get this deal.

lol. i'd like to thank the OP for posting this deal. although i havent done this deal personally (no moola), it was posted on B$ and several ppl has got the deal to work w/ no problem. no one has had any problem with doing the deal at all. in fact, one of the buyer even used a BR check on top of the coupon. as an avid bargain hunter, this deal was totally doable when i saw it. i don't know where all this skeptism is coming from.

If the rebate is no good for a staples purchase, please change the AR price in the thread title.

Also, isn't the best way to do this with an online order to simply order the item (priced to qualify for the coupon discount) and call back the next day to do the PM? If they don't comply, try again.

So price AF (after finaggling) now with pm to Amazon would be approx $74.50 plus tax (120 - (120 -79 = 41 difference) = 79 - 4.50 (the extra 10%) = $74.50 plus tax) ??

Just got mine via UPS ground. It is indeed the V2 of the router (version 2) which has fixed all of the previous problems in the first version. It's also about the size of my hand. Definately very cool. I won't have time to set it up until Thursday, but from what I hear, the V2 of this router is the best 108mbps router you can buy!

Eric: Great post, but it is very much YMMV, since you've gotten a Staples csr to PM to a price AFTER already using a coupon. Usually they will invalidate the coupon since the post pm price is below the coupon activation amount - in this case, off a $150 purchase. Your csr apparently didn't notice that you had applied the coupon to the prior purchase when you called back to PM.

I'm glad it worked for you. Good price w/o waiting for rebates!

thanks for the deal, i was about to get the 54g version from BestBuy for around $35 after taxes and PM with CompUSA and MIRs.

but this deal was much simpler I didnt even have to leave my room :)

I just scored one of these for $41.38 after everything.

They kept adding some 6.XX$ for shipping from buy.com who has it for 74.98$, but i kept saying shipping is free, but the lady said when u goto checkout it adds shipping anyways

So I said whatever hung up tried it myself and it was still FREE, so i called back and told the lady about it and she said, that it adds shipping , so after her fussing a bunch and me waiting patiently she was like: "OH i SEEEEEE, it is adding a Belkin Patch Cable to the cart when you add the router that is where extar 6.XX is comign from"

then she tried to not give me the 110% on that and i finaly told her the grand total shoudl be $41.38 and she was liek ok ok and creditied back to me $7.59 for what they called "shipping"

Oh i used $6.XX casue they kept changing how much shipping was from 6.17 to 6.71 to 6.81 so :p

I used some 75cent rubberbands to get final cart price over $150.

so after 3 calls this is what happened:

WGT624 WIRELESS 802.11G 1 149.98
RUBBER BANDS BRITES ASST 0.75
_______________________________________
Merchandise Total: $150.73
Delivery Fee: $0.00
Total Tax: $12.43
________________________________________
Order Total: $163.16

therefore,

163.16 - 89.30PM - 32.48cpn = $41.38

for those intrested total before TAX was $38.23

They said I should get by Friday, this week :)

Thanks for AWSOME DEAL!

PS. found out theyre are 25cent paper clips which i didnt see before so i tried to see if they coudl change rubberbands to paperclips, but they said its too late too many changes, blah blah then i aksed what final total was and he told me $41.42 so theyre all dumb over phone but im gonna see where they messed up and make them credit back the 4cents to my creditcard

You already got the router at cost. Is it really necessary to take it 4 cents furthur? If time is money....and if you actually go through with that, then you not only look like a total idiot, but you start losing out on the hot deal.

hey, would this work with the CompUsa deal??

CompUSA has they router for 99.99 with $10.00mir and you get a free (after MIR) PC or PCI card with it.
So then PM it to the Amazon or Buy.com price and you get both for $75??????

So your saying it is OK for Staples to rip off people at WILL!, They already tried to bullsh1t me about a Shipping Fee and they did Rip some people off already cause of that and thats becasue they added a Belkin Patch Cable to the cart and called it shipping :|

I dont think it is right for them to shortchange me even 1cent, i did not do something that was illegal it is theyre policy they must follow it, if they dont like it then let them change it :p

PS. I have spent 3hours and driving to 4 different stores for one hot deal before, a 5min phone call doesnt hurt no one, and your the only idiot if you allow them to screw you

lighten up Jr. you start flaming for 4-cents??

Just my 2-cents ;)

you did get a good deal. Did you make the order online first using your coupon and then call back later for the PM? And I thought the buy.com offer was just a 1-Day deal? So you did this deal back on the 27th?

Eric: Can you or someone supply a link to the product at Amazon. I've searched there and can not find it. There are some non-amazon vendors, but not at your price.
