Netgear WGR614 Problem

This has happened to me twice. Basically, the wireless option of the router will simply just die suddenly. I'm not sure if it's the signal or the actual functionality of the wireless broadcasting itself. However, unplugging the router for a few seconds will generally fix it and when it powers back up it will be working fine.

I've changed the channel it uses in case that had anything to do with it, but it just happened again on the new channel too. Does anyone have any other ideas? Just wondering if I should be planning to RMA it or not.

Take a look at this thread, I'm not sure I have the technical ability to help you directly but this site has helped me out a few times (I have a WGR614v2 using v2.04 firmware). Newer firmware fixed some of my dropped connections. I have read in more than one place that the v1 routers chipset overheated and would cause a dropped connection.

Later...
