There is one website that is blocked for all computers behind this router (all other websites work properly). I have NOTHING setup to block ANYTHING in the router config. When I put one of the computers as the DMZ host, the website loads just fine. (also, the website loads fine from a variety of other physical locations). Has anyone heard of this? What else can I try?

Thanks,

Dave

I don't know about your router, but the fact that it works with DMZ suggests that this site is sending data back and forth on ports that aren't opened for some reason. Just a guess though (don't know how to fix it if it were though! :p )

Yea, but there are no ports blocked in the config - so why would there blocked ports? The website is columbiatn.com, but I didn't mention it previously because it is not the websites fault - so what difference does it make :) ?

are you sure the website resolves behind the router? start > cmd > nslookup columbiatn.com

It could very well be the websites fault. I've seen poorly written web applications/pages that try to make a connection BACK to the client instead of using the open socket. That would expain your symptoms and why it works when you put it in DMZ (all ports forwarded to a particular client).

That's the reasoning why I think DMZ works for the website. However, I opened it and it opened fine with my Asus router (flashed with Tomato). Don't know now. Maybe the address resolution possibility listed above.

Edit: Not sure what DMZ would have to do with address resolution though.

Crazychicken, do you have any forwarded ports on that router?

my only thought was that he was assigning a static IP/DNS in the DMZ that's different from the normal inside DHCP DNS address.
