Netgear mr814 as an access point?

All i need is to extend my wireless, and well, don't want to spend more money I have a spare mr814 i can use. I don't want to run a 2nd-ary network if i can avoid it. All I can think of is turn off DCHP, and link the two routers w/ a crossover ... but i dunno if the wireless would extend or just not work.

Any ideas?
