Daveman,

Get yourself an external antenna from HDCOM. I could not reach my neighbor with my Linksys and then added a directional 8db gain antenna and it works like a charm now. Call them and tell them what you need.

Check for firmware upgrades. I had the same problem with my D-Link wireless router until I downloaded and installed the latest firmware.

Dascud,

There is also a coffee can antenna that is supposed to be easier to put together, and less saturated fat than Pringles.

i have this router..be warned, it sucks for online gaming. you will get 5 second lag spikes every minute. don't know if this is a problem with all wireless, or just this router.

gothaggis, this doesn't have anything to do with your not opening up the appropriate ports on the router, does it? My coworker had lag problems in bnet until he opened the ports on his router.

I got in on the Buy.com "price mistake of the day" deal for the MR314 + the MA401 pc card. I switched from a SMC7004abr and within minutes had the system running. So far, in terms of online games, I've not seen the "5 second lag every minute" thing that another guy mentioned, but then I'm only using the wired port for gaming as my laptop is too slow for games.

I'm happy with the switch to the MR314, online gaming is still the same (which is good since I was happy with the SMC), the transfer speed is slightly faster, and my laptop can now be used anywhere in the house.

Think the deal is only for one day only. Still a good deal with a $30 rebate.
