This deal is only good until 1/20 so hurry.

Best Buy is selling these for $9.97

Circuit City has them for $19.99 with a $5 CC MIR and a $5 Netgear MIR

Have CC price match BB and get the rebate forms printed out at the same time. Your cost will be tax + a stamp and envelope.

Netgear has a limit of 2 rebates per customer
Circuit City has a limit of 1 rebate per customer, but it says nothing about per household so have GF/spouse get other rebate. You might have to buy them on different tickets to do this.

I think a NIC for a buck is a pretty good deal. I did this deal today. Actually I purchased them at CC, then found them at BB, and went back to CC for price adjust.

Heck, $10 at Best Buy is a good enough deal for me! I figure the time spent on 2 rebates and a pricematch is worth about $10 ;)

Thanks for a great deal :D

There is no ad, this is the price on the shelf. I did not notice if it was in the Sunday flyer or not. If you have trouble just have CC call BB. The Price is $9.97, and I don't know what a .97 price means, ask someone at BB.

These boards are based on the Realtek 8139A/B/C chipset. They work, but a little high ON CPU usage. Linux drivers are also not the best for this chipset.

Even though it costs only $1 after rebate, how does this NIC compare with Netgear's FA310TX? I LOVE my FA310TX.

I have used these NIC's. the windows drivers are great. also, the linux drivers are very complete. the fa310 uses the tulip driver in Linux. which is a very mature driver. However, the fa311 and 312 cards use a different chipset, which is very well documented, high performing, and mature in linux. I think the 311 and 312 are very good cards. Side note, Netgear is marketing the 312 and 311 as being higher end cards, so these are actually a better deal than a 310 for same price.

I am using 4 of these cards (actually a couple 310s and a couple 311s) and have had NO bad experiences with them. They have the easiest setup I've ever run across (both Win98 and Win2k). I used Linksys before but they were somewhat of a pain to set up on some machines.

I use the fa310tx and have never had a single problem with it. :)

However, the Best Buy website shows $19.99. So I guess it's only B&M.?.?.

I have heard that these cards handle high PCI bus speeds better than some other NICs. If there are any overclockers around here that might be enough reason to consider these cards.
