Just curious as I was thinking of restarting my netflix subscription. When did Netflix stop allowing you to look through their streaming selection before subscribing? Is the selection still bad? I just wanted to make sure I could catch up on walking dead and browse for a few other shows before I took the plunge again.
 
The quality of the selection really depends on the person doing the watching, and the time when you look at the listings. They add and remove items on a regular basis. A lot of the stuff on Netflix is of absolutely no interest to me, but there is more than enough to keep me and my kids entertained.

Netflix currently has seasons 1 through 4 of The Walking Dead available on the streaming service. Season 5 is available on DVD but not via streaming (yet).
 
In my opinion the Netflix TV section has grown leaps and bounds in the last year but it all comes down to what your interested in.
 
Thx. I forgot about this post, but the responses help. We cut the cord mid season 4 of the walking dead and I have been itching to watch the rest.

We always liked the kids selection, but were usually quite frustrated with any of the some what new releases.
 
I dont see why anyone would cancel Netflix. Netflix is cheap at 8$ a month. Basic cable TV is 50$ a month without HD. There is usually nothing to watch on cable TV when you want to watch either.

You could however go with just Amazon prime. At 100$ a year you get many of the same selections as Netflix and they have HBO content.

Exactly. My currently monthly entertainment bills are:

1. Netflix $8
2. Amazon ~$9
3. Spotify $10

Under $27 a month for all of the movies & music I can handle (mine are actually a bit different...I have the extra Netflix streams for $12/mo and the Spotify student discount for $5/mo). Netflix can get a bit boring to browse through, but there are lots of good third-party recommendation websites to look at:
