netflix is great, i dont have to spend an hour or two a week at blockbuster with my wife anymore :D
We quit playing that game LONG ago. Now, we use The Internet Movie Database to pick out a movie, call our local mom & pop video store to make sure it's in, then go grab it for $2.65 rental. We get one movie every Friday night, IF we can find one! It's getting harder and harder. I have no idea what we'd use Netflix for. We'd have a pile of obscure movies laying around, and no time to watch them, I guess.

Netflix's movie selection isn't any more obscure than the video store's.

In NYC, Blockbuster has an unlimited DVD rental plan for $24.99 a month. You can take out two movies at a time and keep them for as long as you like. For $29.99, you can take 3 out at a time.

It's not the selection, it's the fact that I'd be ordering a bunch of crap, just because I have an account I'm paying for every month. I have a hard enough time finding four movies per month to watch, let alone more!

Do episodic sets count as one DVD or the amount of discs it has? For example, Family Guy Vol.2 has 3 discs...would this count as all 3?

I had it for a few weeks last summer and thought it was awesome, but budget cuts stopped me and the fact I didn't watch movies that often, but I'll probably get it again once We sell this house and setup in a new one where money will be a bit more available

I'll probably be quitting Netflix after this month. The first month + 2 week trial was great, I had really fast turn around times. Ever since the second paid month started things really slowed down, I used to get movies 3 times a week (typically 4 movies at a time so around 12 a week)....now I only get one set a week and I'm on the 8 out plan. Also in the second month I had 1 bad disc and one disc went AWOL.

Each Disc in the set counts as a DVD. So that would be 3 rentals right there.

i'm currently watching Alias Season 2 Disc 3. It's great watching these episodes back to back with no commercials.

I watched 24 Seasons 1 and 2 this way also, was awesome.

Started off pretty good, then went bad. It has been great since they moved in a distribution center to Greensboro (45 minutes away)

Walmart or Netlix, whichever has the closest distribution center
