i just started watching it. about 10 minutes in. looks like a british version of 24 or something, without jack bauer. any good? netflix recommended it at 4.5 stars for me.

i just got one watching the first episode. pretty good. not bad. a tad boring, but i'm assuming it'll pick up soon.

there were some 24-esque moments, though... a passenger plane blows up on i-95 near dc. a british official was in a government suv when the plane blew up and showered the highway with debris and crashed. tons of traffic and mayhem on the highway... he jumps out and tries to save a woman in a burning car. he burns his hand removing burning debris from the car (you don't see him burn his hand, but when he goes to the bathroom later in the episode, he cools his burned hand off with water... i found that somewhat refreshingly realistic), however, somehow he made it through all the disaster on the highway in the suv to get back to the british embassy in minutes? really? no traffic at all? just drive right on through the tons of burning metal, luggage, cars, and bodies on the highway? also, it was a plane from dc heading to london... full of fuel and it explodes. not nearly enough fire and damage on the screen to depict how devastating that would be.

anyways, i'm being nitpicky.

yeah, that's exactly what I was wondering--if it would be a British Jack Bauer...

the only problem, he wouldn't be able to torture people, he'd have to club them or spray them, and then he'd take breaks for tea.

do not want.

Oh, I want to see that. Is it the one with Stringer Bell as the lead?

ah, yes it is.

I highly recommend it. Season 1 is on netflix streaming. And season 2 just aired across the pond I believe

It's a rather short series. First season was six episodes I think, second is only four

ok, so...

this show...

is fucking awesome...

it's what 24 should have been but couldn't be because americans would have been too lazy to have kept up with the storyline.

it starts off kinda confusing with frayed ends... you aren't sure who's who and what's going on. most american households would have written it off as a show that's over their heads or too boring.

this show is fantastic.

Too bad no planes flying from DC are international flights need to go to BWI or IAD for that. Pretty sure DCA (only airport IN DC) is domestic only.

the flight left dulles, which is an international airport.

dulles is in dc.

man, i haven't seen dulles in forever. last time i went there was when i was a little kid. then we started using bwi. i think it's because there was far less risk of traffic taking 32 to 495 and to go to dulles.

son of a...

there's only 1 season?! ugh. sucks. looks like the brits cancelled this one, too.

i guess it'd have been silly to have gone longer than one season. if you watch the full season, you'll understand why. it'd be like the united states and england are constantly involved in some conspiracy shit around the world all the time and it'd jump the shark.

see what i mean?

nope, i watch the wire/breaking bad and the rest, but this was something that i too got on netflix, but it made such a little impression on me i could barely remember it. now that i think about it, it was downright cartoonish at times even, so it was not something impressive at all.

Washington Dulles International Airport (IATA: IAD, ICAO: KIAD, FAA LID: IAD) is a public airport in Dulles, Virginia, 26 miles (41.6 km) west of downtown Washington, D.C. The airport serves the Baltimore-Washington-Northern Virginia metropolitan area centered on the District of Columbia.

Though luckily there is sort of an expressway leading to the airport from 495, Just hop onto it and it leads straight to the airport (no other exits along the way) and they are building the metro rail out to Dulles as well at the moment.

Wheaton HS class of 2011
