Netflix + silverlight

couldn't get my streaming netflix to work.. called their support - turns out that I had silverlight v 4.xx and it only works on 3.xx

uninstalled 4, then installed 3 from netflix's site - worked great until somehow, automagically, i now have silverlight 4 installed again!

anyone know how to stop silverlight from auto-upgrading?

Windows update could be updating it on its own.

I've got Microsoft Silverlight Version: 4.0.50524.0 on my Win7 x64 install and it works just fine.

Hmm I just checked, I've got the same version of Silverlight and netflix streaming works just fine. Both at home (win7 64) and work (xp pro 32). Works in both FF 3.6.3 and IE8.

Right-click on a Silverlight window, go to properties, disable updating.

very odd. on my Win7 x64 machine, it works fine, but my XP one it gives me the disable private browsing error on both IE and Firefox, even though they are not on.
