Just watched the pilot since I can't watch the rest of the Americans on fx anymore. Didn't find any other thread on this.

Complex, gripping, great acting. It seems to me like a breaking bad with Jason bateman. Looking forward to the rest of it.

We are four episodes in and it's pretty good! I honestly knew nothing about it and we only watched it because Jason Bateman. So it was a pleasant surprise.

Looking forward to checking it out. I just started TWD though so I have awhile before I can start this one.

Doesn't Ruth look a lot like a female Justin Timberlake? Lol

We are on episode 6 and enjoying it a lot. Bateman is playing his character really well. Whole cast is pretty strong. Well except the FBI officer. Just seems awkward. Maybe that is the intent, but I'm just not quite feeling his character.

LOL. You should stop while you're early. You will thank me later.

Or just stop after season 1. Maybe season 3 because I don't think season 2 would be nearly as bad binge watching it, but watching it as it aired was terrible.

Ozark is on a whole other level than the pile of shit that is TWD.

We're about 6 episodes in. It's been compelling so far and a good watch, but the obvious Breaking Bad ripoffs have been annoying to me (especially the opening scenes of each episode, most look like they could easily have been BB openings).

With the gratuitous head shootings and bodies in barrels so early in the first episode the BB comparisons are inevitable. But other than Marty and Walter sharing the ability to spin an intricately layered lie out of thin air they're not really much alike.

I thought both fbi agents did a poor job. It just felt off. Not horrible, but off.

The black FBI agent was one of the worst actors I've ever seen in a hollywood production. Just awful.
Haha...yeah the black agent was the lesser of the two.

I hope they recast for next season. The fbi agents are important roles.

Still working my way though this. I think i'm 3-4 in. Bateman is rescuing this show. He is the stand alone best part. Not to say the rest is bad but he is the best by a wide margin.

They are similar. Clean-cut, intelligent, respectable white bread men who make the almost inconceivable choice to get involved in the drug trade. I'm not saying it's a direct character-for-character duplication of BB, just that the episode progression and format are noticeably comparable.

I'm completely ok with this.

Yea the FBI role isn't played well. Pretty good series despite that.

I watched it mostly because there's not much on and the wife wanted to, but I thought it was 'meh' at best. I personally think Bateman isn't the best actor, but some of it is not his fault. The story tries to be a lot deeper than it comes out.
