If you have a blockbuster store close-by, then go with that. Otherwise, its a toss-up.
I'd agree that if you have a blockbuster store close by to go with blockbuster, but i wouldn't call it a toss up without...i'd say it is only that that keeps bb in the race...without a b&m store close, go with netflix
Agreed.
Ok, now there are two types of people who do these rentals. There are the people who rent DVDs casually and watch them at night with their family or friends or wahtever and then return. There are also those who rent 3 at a time, get 3 and return all 3 the next day. That means you could potentially burn through 6 a week.
Renting 6 a week * 4 weeks a month pretty much makes the company go bankrupt. That's why some people thought you get throttled. I tried this for a 4 month period with Netflix. I don't think I did a full 6/week but I'll say I got through roughly 80 - 90 films in the 4 month period. Never throttled.
I tried the same with BB and I thought I got throttled, but it turns out sometimes it takes 2 days or 1 day for the movie to come despite the distribution center being in the same city as Netflix's. However, with BB's Total Access, I assume you could burn through 12 movies a week. Good deal right?
So if you plan on doing 12 movies a week, BB is the way to go. Even if they take 2 days to get ur stuff back, maybe your'e down to 9 or so a week on average.
If you plan on casually renting, I love Netflix. They're reliable, dependent, never late. BB is kinda.. ehhh? However There are ways to get BB free for life I believe if you just keep doing trials. I don't believe you can really pull that off with NetFlix.
Either way I've never been throttled going as fast as I've gone in renting.
