It seems like they don't have any good movies. Every time I search for stuff, it finds nothing. I wanted to watch Don't Be A Menace and they didn't have that. Terminator and Alien are not on there either. I wanted to watch Good Eats and it wasn't on there. I wanted to watch No Reservations and it wasn't on there. wtf do they have on there if every search finds nothing? Simpsons is not there either.

What does Starz have other than "Spartacus" that anyone will give two shits about any way?

Nothing for me, so they are more than welcome.

and even Spartacus sucks. the PQ of Starz content is the absolute worst, so while they have a lot of content, it mostly sucks in all conceivable categories.

So I don't really care if they go.

Just about everyone I know with taste would disagree with you. To each their own.

It was, by far, some of the best television of the last several years

Cause people with kids are totally scamming the system, ya? Besides, what's wrong with taking advantage of the system the way they had it set up? There was already a limit to the number of devices you could have authorized to play movies on, but it was nice to be able to let my kids watch their own shows on their pcs while I watched something on the tv, or vice versa. I cut my sub to only streaming after the dvd or streaming debacle...guess it is time to say good bye to netflix.

me too, we barely used it but when traveling and for the kids to get some backyardigans action was nice.

oh well

Perhaps they are feeling the heat from Amazon? That, and, come Feb. 2012, they will lose the Starz network material. They can only prosper with more content, not less.

I'm really not upset about this or any of the other changes.

I only ever use one stream at a time, and it makes sense not to allow multiple users on one account (seriously exploitable).

It would be nice to see something like "Add 1 extra stream for $1/mo" or something for families that might see multiple stream use on a regular basis.

i totally exploit the system, and this change really affects how i operate. i have my account on my phone, i watch it on occasion while im waiting for stuff. i also have it on my xbox and my kids have it on their ps3 at their moms house. i also have it on my moms tv so we can watch stuff when we are over there. while i doubt we watch stuff at the same time, im sure it does happen. the ex keeps using it instead of buying her own account, i wouldnt mind hers not working.

not a deal changer, but if it becomes a hassle with the switching of devices ill probably cancel it and go back to burned dvds on my phone and cable that i already pay for at home.

I guess this is just more confirmation that I did the right thing, I cancelled my service before the end of August because of the price hike. I refuse to pay 60% more for less service.

Starz's offerings include more than just Starz's TV shows. They have a license for Sony and Disney movies, which Netflix uses.

Not anymore you can't... most of the cable companies scramble their signals now, so you need a decoder box at each TV in order to watch anything than 3 or 4 basic TV channels.

That's how Comcast works now, anyway. The basic boxes are free, but you need to pay out the nose if you want an HD box or a box with a DVR.

cox cable here in az advertises free basic analog cable with their internet service. also, i pay for an HD box in my living room and a box in my room to watch premium digital channels, but my kids rooms and office all have basic cable as well without the box. even when i forget to pay the bill and they kill my service i still have the basic 105 channels working.

i dont know if ill cancel right away, but i know i will cancel at some point. the selection was getting weak as it was, and sometimes their service would blank out for no apparent reason. i have 7 emails in my inbox with them apologizing for service outages and sub-par quality issues they have had while we were trying to watch movies.

If you go to an all you can eat buffet, do you buy one plate and let the rest of the family and friends share? When you buy your unlimited data plan for your phone, does everyone get to share it?

This isnt even a good comparison, I dont pay extra to watch 2 channels in my own home. If they want to get the people sharing with people outside their home, fine, dont be a dick to me about it, especially since ive been a long time customer (2003) and you just raised your prices and lost content

this almost always requires a second receiver/box which someone is paying for.

UPDATE: Netflix has clarified and said that all accounts can support at least two concurrent streams. The users who saw/heard that they could only have one stream were experiencing an error which Netflix is fixing.

Emergency cancellations averted?

An error, HA! Netflix has done this so many times since ive been a subscriber, every year or so they try to muck around with the price or service options and then when they hear the screaming and fires in the street they back off and say just kidding! The only time ive seen on of their ideas stick is when they raised the rates for those with 1 DVD + Streaming

netflix is having problems with comcast.

comcast wants to make netflix and its master server company pay extra.

the fight has stretched on for a few years.

Yeah, the whole problem with monopolistic service providers also being content deliverers.

to be honest i thought this was already a rule...i.e. one would assume that they wouldn't let a teenager watch movies on his buddy's xbox while mom watches the roku and dad uses his laptop.

do you guys actually have multiple streams going in the same household?
