I'm looking for either a 10.1 or 11.6 netbook with a decent size keyboard. I got my wife the ASUS 1005HA from bestbuy last Christmas and the smaller, cramped keyboard pisses me off. I think its 92%. I already have a really big laptop, that's why I'm looking for something with a much longer battery life, more portable, etc... Does anyone have any suggestions? The included OS is irrelevant btw, I'll be putting Linux on it.

Don't just take the size of the keyboard into consideration, also consider the sturdiness. I know from experience that having a mushy keyboard (lots of flex and no tactile feedback) SUCKS for typing anything more than a few lines.

With that said, I can't vouch for the size, but the ASUS 1001P gets rave reviews from what I've seen. I bought one for my mother last Christmas and she loves it - she's a writer.

Depending on how much you're looking to spend, the ASUS UL20A-A1 / A2 might be a good option. It's a CULV, not a netbook, and 12.1", but it's far more powerful and should have a "full sized" notebook keyboard. You might be able to find it for $500-550 if you really shop around. Oh, and battery life... 8-10 hours easily. My UL30A-A2 gets at least that.

I've always liked the Toshiba NB series keyboards, although as a 10-inch netbook, I'm not sure how you'd react to it.

This is why I like crossover notebooks (think those 11.6-inch models with low-end ULV chips) or even the iPad. More room to type makes for a better system all around, I say.

If it is a size issue, you need to get an 11.6" screen or larger.

The toshiba chicklet keyboards are the BEST. They type just like a regular keyboard. Very good feel. Remember get the chicklet keyboard, not the reuglar one because the regular one is pretty bad imo.

I recently purchased a refurbished HP Mini 210 (non HD). The keyboard is the best out of all the keyboards I've felt on netbooks.

I picked it up for 250$ and some change with the N450, 1GB DDR2, and 160GB 5400RPM HD, and the LED 10.1" screen.

Just wondering, how did ASUS 1001P compare to other products as far as keyboard mushiness goes? Was it slightly better or noticeably better?

While browsing Bestbuy today I noticed keyboad flex was something hit and miss with the larger notebooks, but present on all netbooks in the store.
