netbook tweaks? seems super slow

So i have two netbooks, both have same cpu both have same 2gb ram

Is the ssd in them going to affect the performance or is there a tweak im forgetting to do because one of them seems crazy slow and other seems decent. both are same exact asus model eeepc 10 i think my lil boys use them in the car so not big deal but im wondering what tweaks i should do to make it faster.. (one came with windows 7 and other ubunto and i put windows 7 pro on it my self) Going to do some benchmarks on them when i have time i guess
 
You may want to see if the speed ramps up. While normally the Atom runs at 1.6GHz (or whatever yours are) some netbook manufacturers will have lower settings. My MSI Wind runs at 800MHz in power savings mode. If you thought a 1.6GHz Atom was slow... My point is that the "slow" netbook may be stuck in some power savings mode.
