I need to get my disc out in a matter of minutes, so I'm posting this in an active area of the forums. Sorry if I offend the moderators...
I just burned 4,900 files to a DVD+R using Nero Burning ROM. It burned quickly, but I stepped out of the room just before it finished. When I came back, the Disc Burning dialog had disappeared completely. It was as if Nero had never been opened. I browsed to the drive and confirmed that the files were there, but the disc identification label was never read. I tried to burn a second session with Windows CD Burning and it told me that the drive was still in use.
Nero has locked it and left it that way. I can't restart my computer because it would interrupt an FTP transfer (someone is downloading the same 4,900 files from my hard drive). I can't find any processes in the Task Manager related to Nero. I've had problems with Nero leaving the drive locked before on many different systems, so I know that it's just bad programming. I still don't know why Nero closed itself after completion.
How can I get my disc to eject without restarting the computer?
